NEW WRITING FOR YOUNG PERFORMERS 6-18
Thanks for joining me. My name is Emma and I write new plays, musicals and pieces for young performers aged 6 - 18. All my work has been developed and workshopped with young actors in my own company, Step On Stage and has been developed through over 20 years of experience as a Drama and Performing Arts teacher, director, examiner and theatre practitioner. When I started teaching I found a real lack of pieces for the students I was teaching, as well as a lack of suitable youth theatre plays for the casts of students I had. So, I started writing and 20 years later I have written a huge amount of material for students just starting out on their creative journey.
I have had pieces published with LAMDA and these are on their examination syllabus and my work has been performed in youth theatres and performing arts schools in the UK and abroad. My first book, Monologues and Duologues for Young performers is published by Bloomsbury and Methuen Drama and available now to order from bookstores and online.
